My Bloody Valentine – Paris – 2008

ZENITH – PARIS

As an early MBV fan from their first album, I really tried to help them to achieve their traditional final blast of noise at the end of the show, because French law on decibels changed during the last decade. Forget the 120db, it’s now 105db and 95db if you have neighbors.
I discovered that the Zenith venue had put limiters on their system, but the band didn’t know they could shut them down before the show! I tried to explain that to their sound ingeneer, but he was too paranoid to listen to me.
Well, the show was interrupted three times near the end when the volume reached 111db, with a final global shut down of the power by the Police. 7000 people screaming didn’t change anything a bit.
Vive la France!
